As a priest thou didst offer the Holy Sacrifice,/ and as a Martyr thou was thyself a burnt offering./ O Hieromartyr Paphnutios,/ God's steadfast Athlete and Treasury of grace,/ bestow grace on us who praise thee.
Ἀπολυτίκιον . Ἅγιος Παφνούτιος Ἦχος δ´
Καί τρόπων μέτοχος, καί θρόνων διάδοχος, τῶν Ἀποστόλων γενόμενος, τήν πρᾶξιν εὗρες θεόπνευστε, εἰς θεωρίας ἐπίβασιν· διά τοῦτο τόν λόγον τῆς ἀληθείας ὀρθοτομῶν, καί τῇ πίστει ἐνήθλησας μέχρις αἵματος, Ἱερομάρτυς Παφνούτιε· πρέσβευε Χριστῷ τῷ Θεῷ, σωθῆναι τάς ψυχάς ἡμῶν.

Θυσίαν τὴν ἔνθεον, πιστῶς προσφέρων Θεῷ, ὡς θῦμα εὐπρόσδεκτον, προσανηνέχθης αὐτῷ, ἀθλήσεως ἄνθραξιν· ὅθεν ὡς ἱερέα, καὶ στερρὸν Ἀθλοφόρον, ἔδειξέ σε ὁ Κτίστης, χαρισμάτων ταμεῖον· ἐξ ὧν καὶ ἡμῖν παράσχου, Ἱερομάρτυς Παφνούτιε.

As thou didst willingly lay down thy life for thy flock, O glorious hieromartyr Ælphege, thine innocent blood crieth out to God like that of Abel and Zachariah; wherefore, standing now with boldness before the Most High, with them thou dost ever beseech Him to have mercy and save the souls of those who honor thy sacred memory with love.

The image of God was truly preserved in you, O Father, / for you took up the Cross and followed Christ. / By so doing, you taught us to disregard the flesh, for it passes away, / but to care instead for the soul, since it is immortal. / Therefore your spirit, O holy Father John, rejoices with the angels.

Your soul drank of the waters of asceticism, you shown forth among Martyrs, you were radiantly glaring, O wise Agathangelos. Therefore graciously, as is truly fitting, you shamed those from Hagar and magnified Christ. Him therefore entreat O Righteous Martyr that He be merciful to us.

Your tender mercies grant to us, we pray. You are the fountain and source of our life, O Lord.
