O holy apostle and evangelist Mark/ entreat the merciful God// that He grant to our souls remission of transgressions.

From thy childhood the light of truth enlightened thee, O Mark,/ and thou didst love the labour of Christ the Saviour./ Wherefore thou didst follow Peter with zeal/ and didst serve Paul as a fellow labourer/ and didst enlighten the world with thy holy Gospel.

Τοῦ Πέτρου συνέκδημος, καὶ κοινωνὸς ἱερός, τοῦ Λόγου διάκονος, καὶ ὑποφήτης σοφός, ἐδείχθης Ἀπόστολε· ὅθεν τὸ τοῦ Σωτῆρος, Εὐαγγέλιον θεῖον, Μᾶρκε διαχαράττεις, ὡς οὐράνιος μύστης· διὸ Εὐαγγελιστά σε, πόθῳ γεραίρομεν.

Thou wast a worthy companion of Ireland's Saints/ and didst work with holy Patrick, Mel and Brigid./ Protect with thy prayers all who labour for the Faith/ that God may be glorified,/ O righteous Father Macaille.

Teacher of good honoring, advisor of the monks, preacher of grace, professor of the watchfulness prayer, pious father Basil, pray always Christ our God to save our souls!

When thou didst receive the grace of the Spirit, O Apostle,/ thou didst destroy the webs of the philosophers/ and didst gather the nations into thy net/ and bring them to thy Lord, O glorious Mark,/ by preaching thy divine Gospel.

When you received the grace of the Spirit from on high, O Apostle, / you broke the snares of the philosophers and gathered all nations into your net, / bringing them to your Lord, O glorious Mark, / by the preaching of the divine Gospel.
