HOLY MARTYR EVSIGNIOS
HOLY MARTYR OSWALD
Martyr CHRISTOS
ST EUGENIOS the Aitolos
Troparion of the Forefeast ― Tone 4
Come, you faithful, let us welcome the Transfiguration of Christ/ and let us joyfully cry as we celebrate the forefeast:/ The day of holy gladness has come./ The Lord has ascended Mount Tabor/ to radiate the beauty of His Divinity.

Troparion of the Forefeast ― Tone 4
Let us go forth to meet the transfiguration of Christ,/ splendidly celebrating the forefeast thereof, O ye faithful;/ and let us cry aloud:/ The day of divine gladness hath arrived!// The Master ascendeth Mount Tabor to shine forth the beauty of His divinity!

Troparion of St EVSIGNIOS ― Tone 4
Thou wast filled with the faith of Christ,/ and in old age possessed a godly, youthful firmness./ Thou didst confess God the Word as transcendent in Essence/ and didst boldly rebuke the apostate's audacity./ Wherefore thou art glorified with the martyrs, O Evsignios, soldier of Christ.

Troparion of St OSWALD — Tone 5
Example to kings, champion of the Faith/ and missionary of God's Holy Word,/ thou didst excel in spiritual virtues O Father Oswald./ With Aidan's help thou didst lift from Northumbria the heavy yoke of heathenism/ and fearing nothing, thou didst confront the forces of darkness,/ thereby exchanging thy earthly crown for the crown of martyrdom./ We who are blessed to have/ thy precious relics with us to this day/ entreat thee for thy prayers/ that Christ our God will grant us His great mercy.

Apolytikion of St CHRISTOS — Tone 1
The boast of Preveza and the majesty of Kos, you showed yourself to be the ornament of the Holy Martyrs; you firmly confessed Christ, O Christos you were made to stand in the pit, through this you endured the fire, and a horrible martyrdom. Glory to Christ Who glorified you, Glory to Him Who through you does wonders, Glory to Him Who through you works many miracles.

Apolytikion of St EUGENIOS — Tone 4
In the Spirit you were shown to be a divinely-inspired teacher and guide of the faithful, servant of Christ, Venerable Eugenios, you were distinguished in speech and luminous in life, and seen as a practical interpreter of piety, for which the Church blesses you.

Kontakion of the Forefeast ― Tone 4
All mortal nature is shining today with the divine Transfiguration/ and is crying with exultation:/ Christ the Savior of all is transfigured.

Kontakion of the Forefeast ― Tone 4 "Thou hast appeared..."
Human nature is made divinely luminous today by the transfiguration of God,/ and crieth out in gladness:// Christ is transfigured, saving us all!

Kontakion of St EVSIGNIOS ― Tone 8
Today the Church glorifies the holy contests of wise Evsignios, the witness of godliness/ and she cries unceasingly: Preserve Thy servants by his intercessions, O most Merciful One.

Kontakion of St EVSIGNIOS ― Plagal Tone 4
As to a man of godly mind and Martyr for true piety, today the Church doth give honour and glory to the supremely wise Eusignios; and his all-hallowed contests doth she praise, as she ever crieth out: By his prayers, preserve Thy lowly servants, O Thou Who art greatly merciful.
