THE SYNAXIS OF ALL SAINTS OF BRITAIN and IRELAND // 3RD SUNDAY OF PENTECOST //

Troparion of ST JOHN the Baptist — Tone 4
O Prophet and Forerunner of the coming of Christ,/ we honour thee lovingly but cannot extol thee worthily;/ for by thy birth/ thy mother's barrenness and thy father's dumbness were unloosed;/ and the Incarnation of the Son of God is proclaimed to the world.

Apolytikion of ST JOHN the Baptist — Tone 4
O Prophet and Forerunner of the presence of Christ, we who fervently honor you cannot worthily praise you. For by your revered and glorious birth the barrenness of your mother and the muteness of your father were unbound, and the incarnation of the Son of God is proclaimed to the world.

Troparion of ST JOHN the Baptist — Tone 4
Prophet and Forerunner of the coming of Christ,
although we cannot praise you worthily,
we honor you in love at your nativity,
for by it you ended your father’s silence and your mother’s barrenness,
proclaiming to the world the incarnation of the Son of God!

Troparion of ST JOHN the Baptist — Tone 4
O prophet and forerunner of the coming of Christ,/ we who honor thee with love are at a loss how to praise thee worthily;/ for by thy glorious and honored nativity/ thou didst loose the barrenness of her who gave birth to thee/ and the muteness of thy father,/ and dost proclaim unto the world// the incarnation of the Son of God.

Apolytikion of SS ZECHARIAH and ELIZABETH — Tone 2
The memory of Your prophets Zechariah and Elizabeth we celebrate today, O Lord. By their prayers, we beseech You, O Christ God, save our souls.

• • •

Troparion of ST GEROME — Tone 6
O holy Gerome who didst count monastic poverty/ far more glorious than thy previous kingship/ and didst not fear the death of the body/ when thou couldst win souls for Christ:/ as thou didst thank and praise the Saviour in thy church in Cornwall,/ pray that we all may be saved.

Apolytikion of ST JOHN of Suceava
You governed your life well on earth, working charity and incessantly praying with tears, you who suffered contests with courage, rebuking the Persian unbelief. Therefore you made yourself strong for the Church and are the boast for the Christians, O John, you shall ever be remembered.

• • •

Apolytikion of St PANAGIOTIS — Tone 3
Divine offspring of Caesarea, showing yourself to be of like manner with the victorious martyrs, blessed Panagiotis; you proclaimed the name of the Savior, and shed your blood on His behalf. Glorious Martyr, intercede to Christ God, to grant us the great mercy.

ALL SAINTS OF BRITAIN and IRELAND — Troparion
Let us who have gathered together bless the lights of the land of Britain, the glorious Martyrs and holy Hierarchs, Monks and Righteous, and let us cry out to them: O all ye Saints of Britain, pray to Christ our God to grant us His great mercy. As a beautiful fruit of the sowing of Thy salvation, the land of Britain offereth to Thee, O Lord, all the Saints that have shone in it. By their prayers keep the Churchand our land in deep peace, through the Mother of God, O Most Merciful One.

NEW MARTYRS OF THE TURKISH YOKE — Apolytikion Tone 3
The New Martyrs trampled upon the ancient error, and lifted up the faith of the Orthodox, and struggled valiantly. The faith of the lawless they despised, and they proclaimed Christ with boldness as perfect God. And they ever intercede unceasingly that great mercy be granted to us.

Kontakion of ST JOHN the Baptist — Tone 3
The formerly barren one today gives birth to the Forerunner of Christ/ Who is the fulfillment of prophecy./ For the Prophet, Herald and Forerunner of the Word/ submitted to Him Whom the prophets foretold/ by laying his hand on Him in the Jordan.

Kontakion of ST JOHN the Baptist — Tone 3
She that once was barren doth today bring forth Christ's Forerunner, John, the culmination and the crown of all the Prophets. For when he, in River Jordan, laid his hand on Him Whom the Prophets preached aforetime, he was revealed as God the Word's fore-chosen Prophet, His mighty preacher, and His Forerunner in grace.

Kontakion of ST JOHN the Baptist — Tone 3
Today the formerly barren woman gives birth to Christ’s Forerunner,
who is the fulfillment of every prophecy;
for in the Jordan,
when he laid his hand on the One foretold by the prophets,
he was revealed as Prophet, Herald, and Forerunner of God the Word.

Kontakion of ST JOHN the Baptist — Tone 3 "Today the Virgin..."
Today she who before was barren/ giveth birth unto the forerunner of Christ,/ and he is the fulfillment of all prophecy;/ for, laying his hand in the Jordan upon Him Whom the prophets foretold,// he hath been shown to be the prophet, herald and forerunner of the Word of God.

Kontakion of ST PANAGIOTIS — Tone 4
A fellow contestant of the Martyrs you showed yourself to be in the contest, gloriously slain for Christ; wherefore, O Panagiotis, Christ crowned you with a crown of glory.

• • •

ALL SAINTS OF BRITAIN and IRELAND — Kontakion
Today the choirs of the saints who have pleased God in the Isles stand forth in the Church and unseen pray to God for us. With them the angels give glory; and all the saints of the Church of Christ make glad with them, and all together they beseech the Pre-Eternal God for us.

• • •

NEW MARTYRS OF THE TURKISH YOKE Kontakion — Tone 1
Rejoice mystically, O Church of Christ, seeing your sons, the Neomartyrs, surrounding your table and altar as olive trees, arrayed as newly-illumined stars, and to the Creator cry out: You are the strength of the Martyrs, O Christ.

Megalynarion of ST PANAGIOTIS
Rejoice, imitator of the Martyrs, and the sacred ornament of Caesarea. Rejoice, Panagiotis, Christ's new armed soldier, the flower of piety, most-fragrant.
