Holy descendant of martyrs,/ thou didst eagerly follow their steps:/ while preaching the Savior's Name thou wast fulfilled in contest./ Wise and glorious Mamas,/ pray to Christ our God to save us.

Your holy martyr Mamas, O Lord, / through his suffering has received an incorruptible crown from You, our God. / For having Your strength, he laid low his adversaries, / and shattered the powerless boldness of demons. / Through his intercessions, save our souls!

In his suffering, O Lord,/ Thy martyr Mamas received an imperishable crown from Thee our God;/ for, possessed of Thy might,/ he set at nought the tormentors and crushed the feeble audacity of the demons.// By his supplications save Thou our souls.

In truth you were revealed to your flock as a rule of faith, / an image of humility and a teacher of abstinence; / your humility exalted you; / your poverty enriched you. / Hierarch Father John, / entreat Christ our God / that our souls may be saved.

In Tadcaster's Monastery, O Abbess Hieu,/ thou didst shine with the virtues of asceticism and humility./ Pray that we also may follow the example of thy great teacher, the Hierarch Aidan,/ and live lives of spiritual struggle that our souls may be saved.

Thou didst leave the tumult of the world to follow Christ according to the Gospel;/ thou didst lead a life equal to the Angels and reach the haven of Mount Athos./ From thence with thy fathers' blessing thou didst illumine thy fatherland at Kiev,/ where thou didst lead a multitude of monks along the path to Christ and His kingdom./ Pray to Him, O Saint Anthony, that He may save our souls.
Apolytikion of St KOSMAS the Hermit — Tone 3
Hermit equal to the Angels, you longed for divine spiritual asceticism, and proved to be an honorable vessel of abstinence, an adornment of the Venerable Ones in Crete, and a renowned boast for the Venetians. Venerable Father Kosmas, beseech Christ our God to grant us the great mercy.
