LEAVE-TAKING OF THE FEAST OF THE NATIVITY OF THE MOST HOLY MOTHER OF GOD
ST AILBE ― BISHOP OF EMLY
Hieromartyr AUTONOMUS bishop in Italy
ST DANIEL of Thasos
Troparion of the NATIVITY of the Theotokos ― Tone 4
Thy Nativity, O Mother of God,/ has brought joy to all the world;/ for from thee arose the Sun of Righteousness, Christ our God,/ Who, having dissolved the curse, has given His blessing,/ and having abolished death, has granted us life eternal.
Troparion of St AILBE ― Tone 4
When Ireland's Enlightener returned to his native land,/ he found thee, O holy Ailbe, preaching the Faith at Emly,/ where at the bidding of an Angel thou hadst built a church./ O wise shepherd of souls and glorious ascetic,/ O friend of animals, and fellow missionary with the illustrious Patrick,/ pray to Christ our God that we might also become bastions of Orthodoxy/ and a shining example to our fellow countrymen,/ drawing them away from ignorance and error/ and into the true Faith that all our souls may be saved.
Apolytikion of St AUTONOMUS — Tone 1
You rose from the West as a heavenly-illuminated star, and shined toward the East with the rays of your ways, the Sun of the glory of Christ, you glorified with your steadfast contest, wherefore you were glorified in your divine work, our Father Autonomos. Glory to Him Who gave you strength, glory to Him Who crowned you, glory to Him Who works through you all manner of healings.
Troparion of St AUTONOMUS — Tone 4
By sharing in the ways of the Apostles, / you became a successor to their throne. / Through the practice of virtue, / you found the way to divine contemplation, O inspired one of God; / by teaching the word of truth without error, / you defended the Faith, even to the shedding of your blood. / Hieromartyr Autonomus, entreat Christ God to save our souls.
Apolytikion of St DANIEL —Tone 4
A most true shepherd, and leader of monastics, you showed yourself to be, all-venerable one, to the monastery in Thasos, Daniel worthy of praise; wherefore by your grace, you provide healings, that you dispense bountifully to those who come near to you, and celebrate with longing your memory all-blessed one.
●
Kontakion of the NATIVITY of the Theotokos ― Tone 4
Joachim and Anna were freed from the reproach of childlessness/ and Adam and Eve from the corruption of death, O Immaculate One, by thy holy nativity./ And thy people, redeemed from the guilt of sin,/ celebrate thy birth by crying to thee:/ The barren woman gives birth to the Mother of God and the nurse of our life.
Kontakion of St AUTONOMUS — Tone 2
With reverence you served the divine mysteries, O wise one, / and became an acceptable sacrifice while partaking of the cup of Christ. / Now, as you stand before Him, holy martyr Autonomus, / unceasingly intercede for us all.
