Thine inspired confession gained victory for the Church,/ O holy Hierarch Nicephoros./ Thou didst suffer unjust exile through reverence for the icon of God the Word./ O righteous Father,/ pray to Christ our God to grant us His great mercy.

The truth of things revealed thee to thy flock as a rule of faith,/ a model of meekness and a teacher of abstinence/ wherefore thou hast attained the heights through humility/ and riches through poverty.// O hierarch Nicephorus our father, entreat Christ God that our souls be saved.

Κανόνα πίστεως, καὶ εἰκόνα πραότητος, ἐγκρατείας διδάσκαλον, ἀνέδειξε σε τῇ ποίμνῃ σου, ἡ τῶν πραγμάτων ἀλήθεια· διὰ τοῦτο ἐκτήσω τῇ ταπεινώσει τὰ ὑψηλά, τῇ πτωχείᾳ τὰ πλούσια. Πάτερ Ἱεράρχα Νικηφόρε, πρέσβευε Χριστῷ τῷ θεῷ, σωθῆναι τὰς ψυχὰς ἡμῶν.

A light-bearer has risen in the Church of Christ, the memory of your contests has filled her with light, seal of the Martyrs, glorious Constantine; release from deceit the offspring of Hagar, and richly illumine the souls of the faithful, those who celebrate your memory, ever-blessed one.

Only Creator who out of the depths of wisdom lovingly govern all things and upon all bestow what is accordingly best for them, give rest to the souls of Your servants, for they have placed their hope in You, our Author and Maker and God.
