Enlightened in mind by Paul, thou didst become a servant of God the Word/ and an inspired Apostle./ O Onesimos, servant of Christ,/ thou dost reward with the gift of life those who faithfully cry to thee:/ Glory to Him Who has glorified thee; glory to Him Who has crowned thee;/ glory to Him Who through thee works healings for all.

O holy apostle Onesimus/ entreat the merciful God// that He grant to our souls remission of transgressions.

Ἀπόστολε ἅγιε Ὀνήσιμε, πρέσβευε τῷ ἐλεήμονι Θεῷ, ἵνα πταισμάτων ἄφεσιν, παράσχῃ ταῖς ψυχαῖς ἡμῶν.

O new boast of Orthodoxy, and newly-adorned flower of purity, you shared the name of Anthimos of Nikomedia, and shared his virtues and way of life, O new seal and adornment of the venerable, O Father Anthimos, the boast of all Chios, entreat Christ God to grant us the great mercy.

Νέον στήριγμα ορθοδοξίας, νεοκόσμητον άνθος αγνείας, Νικομηδείας Ανθίμου συνώνυμος, των αρετών δε εκείνου ομότροπος, νέων οσίων σφραγίς και αγλάισμα, πάτερ Άνθιμε της Χίου πάσης το καύχημα, Χριστόν τον Θεόν ικέτευε, δωρήσασθαι ημίν το μέγα έλεος.

Like a beam of light you shone on the world, / illumined by Paul, the all-radiant sun, whose rays enlighten the world. / Therefore we honor you, glorious Onesimus.
