VALAAM Icon Troparion – Tone 4
O Virgin Theotokos,
we rejoice in beholding your holy icon,
for devout prayers offered in front of it were fulfilled on the island of Valaam
and the ascetics’ failing strength was renewed.
Hear our prayers, also, O Most Holy One.
Strengthen us in faith and love,
entreating peace for the world
and great mercy for our souls.

Kontakion of the Feast — Tone 7
Thou wast transfigured on the mountain, O Christ our God,/ and Thy disciples beheld Thy glory as far as they were capable,/ that when they should see Thee crucified,/ they might know that Thy suffering was voluntary/ and might proclaim to the world/ that Thou art indeed the reflection of the Father.

Kontakion of St DOMETIOS — Tone 6
Thou didst rise above earthly things which drag down the mind,/ thou wast a great guide of monks, O Dometios./ Thou didst not fear the furious emperor/ who would not honour God./ Therefore O Hieromartyr, thou didst die chanting the hymn:/ "God is with me and no one is against me."

Kontakion of St DOMETIOS — Tone 6
Having utterly spurned corruptible things and thoughts/ which draw one down to the depths, O venerable martyr Dometius,/ thou didst show thyself to be a great leader of monks,/ turning to fear the wrath of the king who did not wish to worship Christ as the true God./ Wherefore, thou didst repose, chanting the hymn;// God is with me, and no one is against me!

Kontakion of St THEODORA — Tone 3
Come, all of you who love Christ, with faith and piety to honor our righteous Mother Theodora, / who labored zealously in Sihla hermitage and became a beacon of hermits. / Let us praise God and honor His righteous servants saying: / Rejoice, most venerable Mother Theodora, the spiritual flower of Moldavia.

VALAAM Icon Kontakion – Tone 3
With minds elevated,
we come before your Holy Icon,
O Most Honorable Theotokos!
Your akathistos hymn was sung while it was being painted on the island of Valaam.
You appeared three times to the widow you healed,
and you showed the location of your forgotten icon.
Strengthen us in our affliction.
Increase in our hearts humility, love and silence of prayer.
Be a constant protection of your monastery
and our courage before your Son,
O praised Mother of God and heavenly Queen.

Kontakion of the Holy 7 Youths — Tone 4 "Having been lifted up..."
Spurning the corrupt things of this world and accepting gifts of incorruption,/ though they died yet did they remain untouched by corruption./ Wherefore, they arose after many years,/ burying all the unbelief of the wicked.// O ye faithful, praising them today in laudation, let us hymn Christ!
