Afterfeast of DORMITION
HOLY GREAT MARTYR ANDREW THE COMMANDER AND THE 2593 MARTYRS WITH HIM
ST THEOPHANES the New
Troparion of the DORMITION Feast — Tone 1
In giving birth thou didst preserve thy virginity;/ in falling asleep thou didst not forsake the world, O Theotokos./ Thou wast translated to life, O Mother of Life,/ and by your prayers you deliver our souls from death.

Troparion of St ANDREW the Commander — Tone 3
Thou didst recruit a divinely chosen army for Christ the King/ by the power of the holy Faith,/ and as their commander and model thou didst excel with them in the warfare of martyrdom./ Wherefore together with them intercede with the Lord Who has glorified thee/ to grant us His great mercy.

Troparion of St ANDREW the Commander — Tone 5
Leaving the glory of earthly rank behind,/ thou didst inherit the kingdom of heaven;/ and thou didst adorn crowns of incorruption as with all-wondrous stones,/ and didst lead to Christ an assembly of athletes./ With the choirs of the angels thou didst find Christ, the never-setting Sun,/ in light unwaning, O holy general Andrew.// With those who suffered with thee ever entreat Him, that He save our souls.

Troparion of St ANDREW the Commander — Tone 5
You renounced the glory of earthly rank / and inherited the kingdom of heaven; / you adorned your incorruptible crown as with beautiful stones. / You led an army of martyrs to Christ, / and with the angels in the never-fading light / you found Christ the never-setting sun. / Together with those who suffered with you, / holy general Andrew, / ever pray to Him that He may save our souls.

Apolytikion of St ANDREW the Commander — Plagal Tone 5
You renounced the glory of earthly rank and inherited the kingdom of heaven; you adorned your incorruptible crown as with beautiful stones. You led an army of martyrs to Christ, and with the angels in the never-fading light you found Christ the never-setting sun. Together with those who suffered with you, holy general Andrew, ever pray to Him that He may save our souls.

Apolytikion of St THEOPHANES the New — Tone 1
You became a glorious offshoot of Ioannina, and divine patron of Naousa, Theophanes, as an angel you lived upon the earth, were provided with the gift of working wonders, and grant healings to the pious, who run towards your protection. Glory to Christ Who glorified you, glory to Him Who crowned you, glory to Him Who works through you all manner of healings.

Kontakion of the DORMITION Feast — Tone 2
Neither the tomb nor death could hold the Theotokos,/ who is sleepless in her intercessions and an unchanging hope in her mediations./ For as the Mother of Life she was transferred to life/ by Him Who dwelt in her ever-virgin womb.

Kontakion of St ANDREW the Commander — Tone 2
Standing before the Lord in prayer,/ like a star preceding the sun,/ thou didst gain sight of the desired treasure of the kingdom,/ full of ineffable joy;/ and for ages without end, O general Andrew,/ thou dost unceasingly sing to the immortal King with the angels.// With them pray thou continually for us all.

Kontakion of St ANDREW the Commander — Tone 4
O Andrew most excellent commander, thou didst lead an army of martyrs to Christ./ And with them, O Andrew, thou didst proclaim: / O Compassionate One, Thou art the martyrs' Crown.

Kontakion of St THEOPHANES the New — Plagal Tone 4
The divine instrument of secret theophany, anointed with the state of being equal to the angels, and you were glorified with an abundance of miracles. But as a great healer of God, O Saint, entreat that we may be redeemed from all tribulations, those who cry out to you: Rejoice, Father Theophanes.

Megalynarion of St THEOPHANES the New
The divine offshoot of Ioannina, and great patron and aid of Naousa, and a source of miracles have you become Theophanes, wherefore we revere your holy skull.
