Thou wast transfigured on the mount, O Christ God,/ revealing Thy glory to Thy disciples as far as they could bear it./ Let Thine everlasting light shine upon us sinners/ through the prayers of the Theotokos, O Giver of Light, glory to Thee.

Called by the Holy Spirit thou didst complement the twelve-fold choir of the Apostles./ Thou didst proclaim with them the condescension of God the Word,/ O wondrous and glorious Apostle Matthias./ Pray that all who praise thee/ may receive great mercy and the forgiveness of their sins.

O Holy Apostle Matthias, / intercede with the merciful God / to grant our souls forgiveness of transgressions.

The divine Spirit chose thee to fill the twelve-numbered rank of the apostles, O glorious one. And with them thou didst proclaim the kenosis of the Word, and was made wondrous, O Apostle Matthias. Therefore, intercede for them that honor thee, that they be granted forgiveness of sins and great mercy.

Ἀπόστολε ἅγιε Ματθία, πρέσβευε τῷ ἐλεήμονι Θεῷ ἵνα πταισμάτων ἄφεσιν, παράσχῃ ταῖς ψυχαῖς ἡμῶν.

Θείῳ Πνεύματι, κεκληρωμένος, συνεπλήρωσας, τῶν Ἀποστόλων, τὴν δωδεκάριθμον φάλαγγα ἔνδοξε· μεθ’ ὧν κηρύξας τοῦ Λόγου τὴν κένωσιν, ἐθαυμαστώθης Ματθία Ἀπόστολε. Ἀλλὰ πρέσβευε, δοθήναι τοῖς σὲ γεραίρουσι, πταισμάτων ἱλασμὸν καὶ μέγα ἔλεος.

Thou wast a jewel in the diadem of spiritual athletes/ as bestowed on the Bride of Christ by Iona's Monastery, O Hierarch Phelim,/ Wherefore we pray thee to intercede with Christ our God for us,/ lax and unworthy as we are,/ that we may be granted great mercy.

Rejoice for you contested on behalf of the flock, and you put to shame the foreigners, courageous Euthymios; you fervently loved the Lord, eagerly advancing in His footsteps. Wherefore intercede intensely All-Praised One, that He may grant to us the great mercy.

Thou wast transfigured on the mountain, O Christ our God,/ and Thy disciples beheld Thy glory as far as they were capable,/ that when they should see Thee crucified,/ they might know that Thy suffering was voluntary/ and might proclaim to the world/ that Thou art indeed the reflection of the Father.

Thy message has gone out into all the earth like the sun with its rays of light./ By grace it enlightens the Church of the nations,/ O wonderworking Apostle Matthias.

Thou wast called to compliment the blessed choir of the Lord's disciples, O Matthias, mighty in grace. Wherefore, we proclaim thy great labors in preaching Christ God's dispensation for all the sons of men.
