Dweller of the desert and angel in the body, / you were shown to be a wonder-worker, our God-bearing Father Basil. / You received heavenly gifts through fasting, vigil, and prayer: / healing the sick and the souls of those drawn to you by faith. / Glory to Him who gave you strength! / Glory to Him who granted you a crown! / Glory to Him who through you grants healing to all!

Thou wast a royal gift to Christ's Church, O Basil,/ and in thine ascetic life thou didst make thy life more luminous,/ and wast found worthy of glory in heaven.

With the rivers of your tears, you have made the barren desert fertile. Through sighs of sorrow from deep within you, your labors have borne fruit a hundred-fold. By your miracles you have become a light, shining upon the world. O Basil, our Holy Father, pray to Christ our God, to save our souls.

Apolytikion of ST JOHN CASSIAN ― Plagal Tone 4
The image of God, was faithfully preserved in you, O Father. For you took up the Cross and followed Christ.
