Let us honour the Forty Two Martyrs,/ the chosen company of God the Word;/ they fought with one accord./ United in grace and faith,/ they stood in invincible array./ They proved to be heirs of Christ/ when they bore witness to His Love.

In their sufferings, O Lord,/ Thy martyrs received imperishable crowns from Thee our God;/ for, possessed of Thy might,/ they set at nought the tormentors and crushed the feeble audacity of the demons.// By their supplications save Thou our souls.

Your forty-two holy martyrs, O Lord, / through their sufferings have received incorruptible crowns from You, our God. / For having Your strength, they laid low their adversaries, / and shattered the powerless boldness of demons. / Through their intercessions, save our souls!
Apolytikion of the Martyrs Tone 4
Thy Martyrs, O Lord, in their courageous contest for Thee received as the prize the crowns of incorruption and life from Thee, our immortal God. For since they possessed Thy strength, they cast down the tyrants and wholly destroyed the demons' strengthless presumption. O Christ God, by their prayers, save our souls, since Thou art merciful.

Τὴν θεοσύλλεκτον, τοῦ Λόγου φάλαγγα, τοὺς Τεσσαράκοντα καὶ δύο Μάρτυρας, τοὺς ἐν μιᾷ πάντας σπουδῇ, ἀθλήσαντας τιμήσωμεν· οὗτοι γὰρ τῆς πίστεως, ἡνωμένοι τῇ χάριτι, δῆμον ἀκαθαίρετον, ἱερῶς συνεκρότησαν, καὶ ὤφθησαν Χριστοῦ κληρονόμοι, ξίφει τμηθέντες τοὺς αὐχένας.

Οἱ Μάρτυρές σου Κύριε, ἐν τῇ ἀθλήσει αὐτῶν, τὸ στέφος ἐκομίσαντο τῆς ἀφθαρσίας, ἐκ σοῦ τοῦ Θεοῦ ἡμῶν· σχόντες γὰρ τὴν ἰσχύν σου, τοὺς τυράννους καθεῖλον· ἔθραυσαν καὶ δαιμόνων τὰ ἀνίσχυρα θράση. Αὐτῶν ταῖς ἱκεσίαις Χριστέ ὁ Θεός, σῶσον τὰς ψυχὰς ἡμῶν.

Τῶν ἁγίων Μαρτύρων τὰ κατορθώματα, οὐρανῶν αἱ δυνάμεις ὑπερεθαύμασαν, ὅτι ἐν σώματι θνητῷ τὸν ἀσώματον ἐχθρόν, τῇ δυνάμει τοῦ Σταυροῦ, ἀγωνισάμενοι καλῶς, ἐνίκησαν ἀοράτως, καὶ νῦν πρεσβεύουσι τῷ Κυρίῳ, ἐλεηθῆναι τὰς ψυχὰς ἡμῶν.

Thou wast clothed in humility,/ patient in adversity and diligent in thy preaching,/ O Hierarch Sithney,/ and as a model of chastity and lover of austerity/ teach us to reject the glamour of worldliness,/ for love of Christ,/ that at the last we may receive mercy for our souls.

Having suffered on earth for the sake of Christ,/ and been shown to be pious crown-bearers,/ ye have received the reward of dwelling in joy in the heavens;/ for, having set at nought every wile of the enemy,// by the pain and blood of your wounds ye ever bestow remission of sins from on high upon them that praise you.

Forty-two holy martyrs of Ammoria, / you contended for the sake of Christ on earth; / you were revealed as crown-bearing martyrs, / and have been received into the life of the joy of heaven. / Since you overthrew all the wiles of the enemy / by your sufferings and the blood of your wounds, / you continually send down from on high remission of sins to those who praise you.

Ye who contended on earth for Christ's glory, and were shown forth as godly crown-bearing Martyrs, have been vouchsafed to dwell in Heaven joyously; for since ye brake all the snares of the enemy's cunning by your suff'rings and the blood of your tortures and woundings, ye ever send down freely from on high loosing of sins unto all them that honour you.
