Thou wast the Church's instrument/ in strengthening the Church's teaching of true doctrine;/ thou didst shine forth from the West like a sun/ and didst dispel the heretics' error./ O righteous Leo, entreat Christ our God to grant us His great mercy.

O Champion of Orthodoxy, and teacher of holiness, / The enlightenment of the universe and the inspired glory of true believers. / O most wise Father Leo, your teachings are as music of the Holy Spirit for us! / Pray that Christ our God may save our souls!
Ἀπολυτίκιον. Ἅγιος Λέων Ἦχος γ´. Θείας πίστεως
Θείας πίστεως, ὀρθοδοξίᾳ, ὑπεστήριξας, τὴν Ἐκκλησίαν, ὡς πολύφωνον τοῦ πνεύματος ὄργανον· ἐκ γὰρ Δυσμῶν ἀναλάμψας ὡς ἥλιος, αἱρετικῶν τὴν ἀπάτην ἐμείωσας· Λέων Ὅσιε, Χριστὸν τὸν Θεὸν ἱκέτευε, δωρήσασθαι ἡμῖν τὸ μέγα ἔλεος.

Κανόνα πίστεως, καὶ εἰκόνα πραότητος, ἐγκρατείας διδάσκαλον, ἀνέδειξε σε τῇ ποίμνῃ σου, ἡ τῶν πραγμάτων ἀλήθεια· διὰ τοῦτο ἐκτήσω τῇ ταπεινώσει τὰ ὑψηλά, τῇ πτωχείᾳ τὰ πλούσια. Πάτερ Ἱεράρχα Λέων, πρέσβευε Χριστῷ τῷ θεῷ, σωθῆναι τὰς ψυχὰς ἡμῶν.

Ὀρθοδοξίας ὁδηγέ, εὐσεβείας Διδάσκαλε καὶ σεμνότητος, τῆς οἰκουμένης ὁ φωστήρ, τῶν ὀρθοδόξων θεόπνευστον ἐγκαλλώπισμα, Λέον σοφέ, ταῖς διδαχαῖς σου πάντας ἐφώτισας, λύρα τοῦ Πνεύματος, Πρέσβευε Χριστῷ τῷ Θεῷ, σωθήναι τὰς ψυχὰς ἡμῶν.

As an upholder of Orthodox discipline,/ thou didst show forth in thy life the pre-eminence of holy Tradition,/ O all-praised Hierarch Colman./ With great personal sacrifice, thou wast true to thy teachers,/ wherefore we pray that we may unhesitatingly follow our fathers in the Faith/ with loyalty and devotion/ and thereby be guided into the way of salvation.

From the throne of thy priesthood, O glorious one,/ thou didst stop the mouths of the spiritual lions;/ thou didst illumine thy flock with the light of the knowledge of God/ and with the inspired doctrines of the Holy Trinity./ Thou art glorified as a divine initiate of the grace of God.

Seated upon the throne of the priesthood,/ O glorious one, and having shut the mouths of the noetic lions,/ with the divinely inspired dogmas of the worshipful Trinity/ thou didst shed upon thy flock the light of the knowledge of God.// Wherefore, thou hast been glorified as a divine initiate of the mysteries of the grace of God.

Ἐπὶ θρόνου ἔνδοξε, ἱερωσύνης καθίσας, καὶ λεόντων στόματα, τῶν λογικῶν ἀποφράξας, δόγμασιν, ἐν θεοπνεύστοις σεπτῆς Τριάδος, ηὔγασας, φῶς τῇ σῇ ποίμνῃ θεογνωσίας· διὰ τοῦτο ἐδοξάσθης, ὡς θεῖος μύστης Θεοῦ τῆς χάριτος.

By the mercy of our God,/ thy very life was a sermon, O Father Colman,/ light of the true Faith and example of constancy and piety,/ teaching all by thy selfless devotion./ Praising thee we pray that, withstanding novelty and innovation,/ we may always give glory to Christ our God.
