GREAT MARTYR THEODORE THE TYRO (OR RECRUIT)
HOLY NEW MARTYR THEODORE THE BYZANTINE
ST FINAN
ST MARIAMNE sister of the Holy Apostle Philip
MARTYR MENAS Callicelados
ST NICHOLAS Planas
Troparion of St Theodore the Tyro Tone 1
Great are the accomplishments of faith!/ In the fountain of flame, as in refreshing water, the holy martyr Theodore rejoiced;/ for, wholly consumed by the fire he was offered as sweet bread unto the Trinity.// By his prayers, O Christ God, save Thou our souls!

Troparion of St Theodore the Tyro Tone 2
Great are the achievements of faith!/ In the fountain of flame as in refreshing water,/ the holy Martyr Theodore rejoiced./ He was made a whole burnt offering in the fire/ and was offered as bread to the Trinity./ By his prayers, O Christ our God, save our souls.

Troparion of St Theodore the Byzantine Tone 1
Thou wast offered to God as a precious gift through thy labours in conflict,/ and didst become a blameless and acceptable offering./ O blessed Theodore, we lovingly gather to praise thy struggles;/ we give glory to God who has strengthened thee,/ O much-afflicted one, against all thine enemies,/ visible and invisible.

Apolytikion for the Translation of the Relics of St Theodore the Byzantine (4th Sunday of Pascha) Tone 1
The all-precious Relics of St. Theodore, O faithful, let us gloriously honor as a precious treasure, and let all cry out: Save us from the dangers, those who faithfully hymn you, as when you delivered the city from the plague, and preserve all of us through your intercessions.

Troparion of St Finan Tone 2
As Aidan's successor thou didst rule the See of Lindisfarne fearlessly/ preaching the Orthodox Faith, O holy Hierarch Finan./ Boldly obeying the Gospel command,/ thou didst soften the stony heart of Mercia's pagan Prince Peada/ and win his soul for Christ./ Pray for us, O Saint, that Christ alone will rule in our hearts,/ that He may save our souls.

Apolytikion of St Menas Plagal Tone 4
Since they had slain through their abstinence and struggles the fiery ragings and fierce motions of the passions, the staunch Martyrs of Christ God laid hold on the graces to drive off the pains and illnesses of the sick and work wonders both while living and after death. Strange indeed is the miracle! That these bare bones should pour forth such overflowing streams of cures. Glory be to our only God.

Apolytikion of St Mariamne Tone 4
As a lamb you followed Christ the Savior, a blameless lamb together with the renowned apostle, her brother Philip, all-revered Mariamne, you astonished all, and you became for many, a benefactor of souls, proclaiming heavenly life.

Kontakion of St Theodore the Tyro Tone 8
Thou didst receive the Faith of Christ in thy heart as a breastplate/ and trample upon the enemy hosts, O great Champion./ Thou hast been crowned with a heavenly, eternal crown, for thou art invincible.

Kontakion of St Theodore the Tyro Tone 8
Having received the faith of Christ within thy heart as a shield,/ thou didst trample down hosts of the adversary, O longsuffering one;// and with a heavenly crown hast thou been crowned everlastingly, O Theodore, as thou art invincible.

Kontakion of St Theodore the Tyro Tone 8
Your faith in Christ was like a breastplate upon your heart: / With its aid, you overcame the power of the enemy. / Therefore you are crowned in eternity with a heavenly diadem.

Kontakion of St Theodore the Byzantine Tone 4
Thy contest has arisen like a bright morning star/ and has inspired us to glorify Christ./ He has shown thee forth as one steadfast in struggle, O Martyr Theodore.

Kontakion of St Finan Tone 6
Great Hierarch of the Christian North/ and radiant luminary of the Orthodox Faith, O Hierarch Finan,/ by thy preaching to all nations/ the warlike Mercians were illumined by the light of Christ's holy Gospel./ As we keep festival in thy honour/ we pray for grace to emulate thy righteous example.

Kontakion of St Menas Tone 1
With sacred hymns let us honour wondrous Menas, divine Hermogenes and Eugraphos; for they honoured the Lord and suffered for Him. They attained to the bodiless choirs in heaven and shower miracles upon us.

Kontakion of St Menas Tone 4
The Lord snatched thee out of the temporal army, making thee a fellow-heir of the eternal, O Menas, with them that suffered and died with thee; and He doth grant thee the crown incorruptible.

Kontakion of St Nicholas Tone 3
Humble of spirit and pure of heart, illustrious in life and dispassionate of a truth, wast thou, O wise one. Thou didst illumine all by the virtues and dost grant grace unto them that draw nigh unto thee; and by thine intercessions, thou dost heal them that call upon thee, O Father Nicholas.

Megalynarion of St Theodore the Byzantine
Let us the faithful praise the pearl of Jesus in odes and hymns, Christ's bright star of the neomartyrs, Theodore the New, the boast of the faithful.

Megalynarion of St Mariamne
You banished away delusion from us, divine Mariamne, and consecrated to Christ, our longing for Light, we celebrate your memory, and with longing venerate, your revered icon.

Megalynarion of St Nicholas
As a simple shepherd of Christ God's lambs, thou didst tend thy flock well on the pasture of piety, nourishing their spirits with ceaseless supplications and leading them to Christ, O wise Father Nicholas.

The Prayer of St Theodore the Byzantine
Lord Jesus Christ, the physician of my miserable soul, do not turn from me the sinner in disgust, but strengthen my weak and hardened heart, and warm it in its love for Your martyrdom. I denied You, my Maker and Benefactor, without being forced by anyone and became a servant of the vile devil and a plaything of demons, and found myself under their authority and subject to their will. Now aided by Your grace and unsurpassable forbearance, which has helped me to flee their traps, help me, who am a miserable and pitiful creature, unworthy of the Orthodox Christian calling, to confess You before rulers and tyrants. Yes, my Lord, yes Only-Begotten Son of God. Do not turn in disgust from your servant, but accept me in the choir of your martyrs, and find me worthy to gain their forgiveness. Amen.
