By the inspiration of the Holy Spirit/ thou didst worthily receive the anointing of the priesthood, O Basil./ Thou didst offer thy martyr's contest as a royal sacrifice/ to the King of ages./ O righteous Father, entreat Christ our God to grant us His great mercy.

Θείου Πνεύματος, τῇ ἐπινεύσει, χρῖσμα ἅγιον, ἱεροσύνης, ἐπαξίως ὑπεδέξω Βασίλειε· ὅθεν ὡς θῦμα βασίλειον ἔθυσας, τῷ βασιλεῖ τῶν αἰώνων τοὺς ἄθλους σου. Πάτερ Ὅσιε, Χριστὸν τὸν Θεὸν ἱκέτευε, δωρήσασθαι ἡμῖν τὸ μέγα ἔλεος.

Strengthened by long years of ascetical labours,/ thou didst endure the pangs of martyrdom steadfastly, O glorious Athlete Euthymios./ For thou didst hasten to renounce error/ while holding the Cross and palm branches in thy hands./ And with these thou dost stand crowned and rejoicing in Christ's presence.
Ἀπολυτίκιον. Ἁγία Δροσὶς ἦταν θυγατέρα τοῦ αὐτοκράτορα Τραϊανοῦ Ἦχος δ´. Ταχὺ προκατάλαβε
Πατρὸς τὴν δυσσέβειαν, καταλιποῦσα σεμνή, Κυρίῳ προσέδραμες, τῷ Βασιλεῖ τοῦ παντός, Χριστῷ τῷ Θεῷ ἡμῶν, τοῦτῳ δε νυμφευθεῖσα, καθαρᾷ διανοίᾳ, ἤχθης Δροσὶς θεόφρον, πρὸς νυμφῶνα τὸν θεῖον, πρεσβεύουσα ἀπαύστως, ὑπὲρ τῶν τιμώντων σε.

Κλέος ἄφθαρτον, εἰσεποιήσω, ὡς ἀθλήσασα, ἐνδρειοφρόνως, Καλλινίκη Ἀθληφόρε πανεύφημε· τῷ γὰρ οἰκείῳ σου αἵματι πάνσεμνε, τὸ τοῦ Νυμφίου σου πάθος ἐδόξασας. Μάρτυς ἔνδοξε, Χριστὸν τὸν Θεὸν ἱκέτευε, δωρήσασθαι ἡμῖν τὸ μέγα ἔλεος.

Behold, the Bridegroom is coming in the middle of the night, and blessed is the servant whom He shall find awake and watching, but unworthy is he whom He shall find idle and careless. Beware, then, my soul, lest thou be weighed down with sleep, lest thou be given up to death and shut out of the Kingdom. But awake and cry: Holy, Holy, Holy, art Thou, O God: by the power of Thy Cross, save us. (Sung three times; however, the ending the third time is: through the Mother of God, have mercy on us.)

As a priest of the King of glory,/ thou didst also become a holy warrior by thy contest./ Thou didst shame the counsels of the lawless,/ and receive the enjoyment of the heavenly kingdom,/ O Basil, blessed Hieromartyr of Christ.

Having run the race in righteousness, / You preserved the faith, O Hieromartyr Basil. / For this you were made worthy of the crown of martyrdom, / And You have become an unshakable pillar of the Church, / Confessing the undivided Trinity: the Son, co-eternal with the Father and the Spirit. / Entreat Him to deliver those who honor you from distress, / That we may cry to you: Rejoice, O divinely wise Basil!

Holding the trophy of the Cross and palm branches in thy hands,/ thou didst stand before the lawless judge./ Thou didst renounce the false prophet openly/ and put his followers to shame,/ and gladden the Orthodox by preaching Christ as True God./ Intercede for all who faithfully praise thee.

I have sinned more than the harlot, O Good One, and I come to Thee with none of her showers of tears. But praying in silence, I fall down before Thee and lovingly embrace Thy immaculate feet, that as the Lord Thou mayest grant me forgiveness of sins as I cry to Thee, O Saviour: Deliver me from the mire of my evil deeds.
