Κανόνα πίστεως, καὶ εἰκόνα πραότητος, ἐγκρατείας διδάσκαλον, ἀνέδειξε σε τῇ ποίμνῃ σου, ἡ τῶν πραγμάτων ἀλήθεια· διὰ τοῦτο ἐκτήσω τῇ ταπεινώσει τὰ ὑψηλά, τῇ πτωχείᾳ τὰ πλούσια. Πάτερ Ἱεράρχα Βασίλειε, πρέσβευε Χριστῷ τῷ θεῷ, σωθῆναι τὰς ψυχὰς ἡμῶν.

Ὡς ἱερεὺς τοῦ Βασιλέως τῆς δόξης, ὁμολογίας διαλάμπεις τῇ αἴγλῃ, Ἱερομάρτυς ἔνδοξε Βασίλειε· τῶν εἰκονομάχων γάρ, τὴν ἀπάτην ἐλέγχων, πόνοις προσωμίλησας, ὑπὲρ τῆς ἀληθείας· καὶ μεταστὰς ἐν δόξῃ πρὸς Θεόν, τῶν σὲ τιμώντων, ἀπαύστως μνημόνευε.

You were majestically non-wicked, Father Akakios, and your shining life was as an all-bright star, for you become an imitator of the former Venerables, and were made worthy to profusely receive divine gifts; do not cease to entreat the All-Holy Trinity, to grant to all the divine mercy.
