Troparion of St James Tone 5
Shining forth in holy abstinence,/ as a Hierarch and Minister of God the Word,/ thou didst rightly divide the inspired word of truth./ By thy virtuous struggle/ thou dost confirm and reveal the grace given to thee/ and teach all to worship the Saviour's icon:/ and thou dost pray to Him for us all.
Ἀπολυτίκιον. Ἅγιος Ἰάκωβος Ἦχος πλ. α´. Τὸν συνάναρχον Λόγον
Ἐγκρατείᾳ ἐκλάμψας Πάτερ Ἰάκωβε, ὡς Ἱεράρχης τοῦ Λόγου καὶ ἀληθὴς λειτουργός, ὠρθοτόμησας πιστῶς λόγον τὸν ἔνθεον· οὗπερ τὴν χάριν βεβαιῶν, δι’ ἀγώνων εὐαγῶν, ἐδίδαξας προσκυνεῖσθαι, τὴν τοῦ Σωτῆρος Εἰκόνα· ᾧ καὶ πρεσβεύεις ὑπὲρ πάντων ἡμῶν.

O Father of Irish monasticism, from Candida Casa thou didst settle on the Isle of Aran,/ where thou didst train Saint Colum Cille and other glorious Saints./ Holy Father Enda, pray to Christ our God to grant us His great mercy.

Σοφίᾳ τῇ θεόθεν δεδομένῃ κοσμούμενος, ἐξήρυξας εὐτόλμως τοῦ Σωτῆρος τὸ ὄνομα, καὶ τούτῳ ὡς θυσία καθαρά, προσήχθης τῷ πυρὶ τελειωθείς· διὰ τοῦτο Νεομάρτυς σε Μιχαήλ, τιμῶμεν ἀνακράζοντες· δόξα τῷ παρασχόντι σοι ἰσχύν, δόξα τῷ σὲ στεφανώσαντι, δόξα τῷ χορηγοῦντι διὰ σοῦ, ἡμῖν πταισμάτων ἄφεσιν.

Behold, the Bridegroom is coming in the middle of the night, and blessed is the servant whom He shall find awake and watching, but unworthy is he whom He shall find idle and careless. Beware, then, my soul, lest thou be weighed down with sleep, lest thou be given up to death and shut out of the Kingdom. But awake and cry: Holy, Holy, Holy, art Thou, O God: through the intercessions of the Forerunner, save us. (Sung three times; The third ending is: through the Mother of God, have mercy on us)
