Today the prelude of universal joy moves us to sing the prefestival hymn./ For Gabriel is coming and will cry to her:/ Rejoice, thou who art full of grace; the Lord is with thee.

Today is the prelude of joy for the universe! / Let us anticipate the feast and celebrate with exultation: / Gabriel is on his way to announce the glad tidings to the Virgin; / He is ready to cry out in fear and wonder: / Rejoice, O Full of Grace, the Lord is with You!
Ἀπολυτίκιον Προεόρτιον Ἦχος δ´
Σήμερον τῆς παγκοσμίου χαρᾶς τά προοίμια, τήν πρoεόρτιον ᾆσαι προτρέπεται· ἰδού γάρ Γαβριήλ παραγίνεται, τῇ Παρθένῳ κομίζων τὸ Εὐαγγέλιον, καί πρὸς αὐτήν ἐκβοήσεται· Χαῖρε Κεχαριτωμένη, ὁ Κύριος μετά σοῦ.
Troparion of St Zacharias Tone 3
Thy life of fasting, O blessed Zacharias,/ has given thee power over demons./ We pray that we may escape their snares,/ and may receive forgiveness of our sins and great mercy.
Troparion of St Cairlon Tone 4
O holy Cairlon, thou didst repose in the Lord/ and wast raised to life by Saint Daga./ Then living the risen life while yet on earth/ thou didst spend thy years in apostolic labours./ Pray to Christ our God to save our souls.
Apolytikion of St Artemon of SeleuciaTone 3
You healed by divine grace, your words were speechless by nature, bearing obedience, Holy One, and firmly contesting Artemon, becoming worthy of a double crown from God; Venerable Father, entreat Christ God, to grant us the great mercy.

By sharing in the ways of the Apostles, you became a successor to their throne. Through the practice of virtue, you found the way to divine contemplation, O inspired one of God; by teaching the word of truth without error, you defended the Faith, even to the shedding of your blood. Hieromartyr Artemon, entreat Christ God to save our souls.

Thou hast redeemed us from the curse of the Law by Thy precious Blood. By being nailed to the Cross and pierced with the Spear, Thou hast poured immortality on mankind. O our Saviour, glory to Thee.

O thou who didst bear God in thy womb by the descent of the Holy Spirit,/ at the voice of the Archangel thou didst conceive Him Who is of one dignity and essence with the Father,/ O thou recall of Adam.

Ἐπελεύσει Πνεύματος τοῦ Παναγίου, τοῦ Πατρός τόν σύνθρονον, καί ὁμοούσιον φωνῇ, τοῦ Ἀρχαγγέλου συνέλαβες, Θεοκυῆτορ, Ἀδάμ ἡ ἀνάκλησις.

Thou wast illustrious in fasting,/ and didst appear terrible to demons;/ strengthen us also by thy prayers, O venerable Zacharias,/ that we may lead a life of fasting, and be delivered from the demons' attacks,/ and so may bless thee.

Made worthy of a sacred confession, and completing your life as a martyr, you were translated to heaven, receiving from God an unfading crown. Therefore we celebrate your holy memory, calling out: Remember us, as you stand before Christ, O wise Hieromartyr Artemon.

Come, let us all praise Him Who was crucified for us. For Him it was Whom Mary beheld on the Tree, and said: Even though Thou endurest the cross, Thou art my Son and my God.

(Vespers and Saturday Matins)Noble Joseph took Thy immaculate Body down from the tree, wrapped It in a clean shroud and spices, and having embalmed It, laid It in a new sepulchre. But on the third day Thou didst rise, O Lord, granting to the world great mercy.
The Angel stood by the tomb and cried to the Myrrh-bearing women: Myrrh is fitting for the dead, but Christ has shown Himself free from corruption.
