THIRD FINDING OF THE PRECIOUS HEAD OF THE HOLY AND GLORIOUS PROPHET FORERUNNER AND BAPTIST JOHN
Troparion to Saint John the Baptist Tone 4
Christ has revealed thy head to us, O Prophet and Forerunner/ as a divine treasure hidden in the earth./ We come with hymns to honour its discovery,/ and praise the Saviour Who saves us from corruption,/ through thy intercessions.
Troparion to Saint John the Baptist Tone 4
As a divine treasure hidden in the ground / Was your head revealed to us by Christ, O prophet and forerunner. / We have gathered in commemoration of this finding / With inspired hymns of praise to the Savior, / Who saves us from corruption through your prayers!
Troparion to Saint John the Baptist Tone 4
Like a divine treasure hidden in the earth,/ hath Christ revealed thy head to us, O prophet and forerunner;/ wherefore, assembling for the feast of its discovery,/ let us all chant divinely sounding hymns to the Savior// Who saveth us from corruption by his supplications.

Kontakion to Saint John the Baptist Tone 4
By giving your venerable head to a sinful woman, / Herod broke the law of God. / But we behold it and cry out for joy, / And say to you, O forerunner: / Pray to the Lord that He may grant mercy to us all!
Kontakion to Saint John the Baptist Tone 6
The shining pillar on earth, the Forerunner, lamp of the spiritual Sun,/ has revealed his radiant, holy head to the world./ He sanctifies those who venerate it and who faithfully cry:/ O wise Baptist of Christ, save us all.
Kontakion to Saint John the Baptist Tone 6 "Having fulfilled the dispensation concerning us..."
The splendid and divine pillar in the world, the luminary of the Sun, the forerunner,/ showing forth his radiant and divine head to the ends of the earth,/ doth sanctify therewith those who bow down before it with faith and cry out:// O all-wise baptizer of Christ, save us all!
