HOLY MARTYRS ACINDYNUS, PEGASIUS, APHTHONIUS, ELPIDEPHORUS AND ANEMPODISTUS OF PERSIA
ST ERC
Archimandrite GABRIEL Urgebadze ― Fool for Christ
Troparion of the Martyrs ― Tone 2
Blessed is the earth which drank your blood/ holy the abode which received your spirits./ You conquered the enemy in the stadium and preached Christ with boldness./ Beseech Him to save our souls,/ for He is good, O victorious Martyrs.
Troparion of the Martyrs ― Tone 2
O athletes of the Lord,/ blessed is the earth/ which drank in your blood,/ and holy the habitations which have received your bodies,/ for ye vanquished the enemy in the arena/ and preached Christ with boldness.// Entreat Him, in that He is good, we pray, that our souls be saved.
Troparion of the Martyrs — Tone 2
Blessed is the earth that received your blood, Passion-bearers of the Lord, / and holy is the dwelling place which received your spirits. / You triumphed over the enemy in the stadium / and you preached Christ with boldness. / Since He is good, we pray that you beseech Him to save our souls.
Troparion of ST ERC ― Tone 1
Even in the darkness of heathendom/ thou didst recognize the God-given authority of Ireland's Enlightener, O Hierarch Erc,/ and wast baptized at his hands./ Wherefore we beseech thee, pray to Christ our God/ that being blessed with the virtue of humility/ we may be found worthy of eternal salvation.
Apolytikion of ST GABRIEL ― Tone 4
As the Master Christ hid His divinity, clothing it in humanity, and, unseen by us, brought into being His ineffable glory, likewise didst thou hide thy glory by means of foolishness, and by the wonder of thy confession wast shown forth as a shepherd of souls; O venerable Father Gabriel, entreat Christ God to have mercy on our souls.

Kontakion of the Martyrs — Tone 2
You have received into the enjoyment of Your goodness and repose, O only Good One, / the pious and God-bearing martyrs, who abandoned all earthly things: / Acindynus, Pegasias, and Anempodistus, / together with Aphthonius and Elpidephorus.
Kontakion of the Martyrs ― Tone 2 "The steadfast"
The pious and God-bearing martyrs,/ who on earth forsook all things:/ Acindynus, Pegasius and Anempodistus,/ and with them Aphthonius and Elpidephorus,/ Thou didst receive into the delight of Thy good things and into rest,// O Thou Who alone are all-good.
Kontakion of the Martyrs ― Tone 4
Thou didst receive the God-bearing Martyrs Acindynus,/ Pegasius, Anempodistus, Aphthonius and Elpidephorus,/ into the enjoyment of Thy goodness and repose,/ for they abandoned all things on earth for Thee,/ O only Good One.
Kontakion of ST GABRIEL ― Tone 4
Immeasurable is the mercy of God, by Whose goodness we behold His creation divinized, O venerable father, thou didst confirm in thyself the image of thy Creator, and exalted thy being to the likeness of God, therefore we glorify thee O Father Gabriel, for thou art worthy of all praise, thou wast on earth a trumpet of righteousness, a preacher of love and dove of purity, and thine all-wondrous humility hast opened to the world a treasury of wisdom, and now in heaven art thou, the advocate of God’s mercy and our salvation.
