We know thee as Christ's kinsman and martyr/ and praise thee with holy chant./ O Apostle Jude, thou didst trample on error/ and preserve the Faith./ As today we celebrate thy memory,/ through thy prayers may our sins be forgiven.

Troparion of the Apostle JUDE — Tone 1
Knowing thee to be the kinsman of the Christ/ and a steadfast martyr, O Jude,/ with sanctity we praise thee/ who trampled falsehood underfoot and preserved the Faith./ Wherefore, celebrating thy most holy memory today,// through thy supplications we receive remission of sins.

Troparion of the Apostle JUDE — Tone 1
Divinely we praise you, O Jude, as a faithful witness, / Knowing you to be the brother of Christ. / You trampled on delusion, / And so preserved the faith. / Today as we celebrate your holy memory, / By your intercessions we receive remission of sins.

Troparion of St PAISIUS — Tone 4
The sublime monk and incarnate angel,/ the bodiless man and citizen of heaven/ grants grace to all who honour him/ as today he celebrates with us./ Let us fervently ascribe glory to him.

Troparion to St JOHN of San Francisco — Tone 1
Thou didst increase the gift of the episcopacy, emulating the apostles in the preaching of the word, and for thy vigils, fasting and prayer wast reckoned among the venerable, enduring slander and mockery with meekness. Wherefore, Christ hath glorified thee with miracles, which thou pourest forth in abundance upon all who have recourse to thee with faith. Save us now by thy supplications, O right wondrous John, holy hierarch of Christ.

Troparion to St JOHN of San Francisco — Tone 5
Thy care for thy flock in its sojourn has prefigured the supplications which thou didst ever offer up for the whole world. Thus do we believe, having come to know thy love, 0 holy hierarch and wonder-worker John. Wholly sanctified by God through the ministry of the all-pure Mysteries, and thyself strengthened thereby, thou didst hasten unto suffering, 0 most gladsome healer — hasten now also to the aid of us who honor thee with all our heart.

Troparion to St JOHN of San Francisco — Tone 5
Lo, thy care for thy flock in its sojourn prefigured the supplications which thou dost ever offer up for the whole world. Thus do we believe, having come to know thy love, O holy hierarch and wonderworker John. Wholly sanctified by God through the ministry of the all-pure Mysteries, and thyself ever strengthened thereby, thou didst hasten to the suffering, O most gladsome healer. Hasten now also to the aid of us who honor thee with all our heart.

Troparion to St JOHN of San Francisco — Tone 6
Glorious apostle to an age of coldness and unbelief,/ invested with the grace-filled power of the saints of old,/ divinely illumined seer of heavenly mysteries,/ feeder of orphans, hope of the hopeless,/ thou didst enkindle on earth the fire of love for Christ/ upon the dark eve of the day of judgement./ Pray now that this sacred flame/ may also rise from our hearts.

Kontakion of the Apostle JUDE— Tone 1
Thou hast sprung as a divine branch from a noble root, O Apostle and Brother of God,/ wise herald of Christ and the Lord's eye-witness,/ thou hast nourished the world with thy words/ and as the Lord's initiate thou dost teach the Orthodox Faith.

Kontakion of the Apostle JUDE — Tone 2
You were chosen as a disciple for your firmness of mind: / An unshakable pillar of the Church of Christ, / You proclaimed His word to the Gentiles, / Telling them to believe in one Godhead. / You were glorified by Him, receiving the grace of healing, / Healing the ills of all who came to you, / O most praised Apostle Jude!

Kontakion of the Apostle JUDE — Tone 2 "Seeking the highest..."
As one who conversed with Paul,/ with him thou didst announce the proclamation of divine grace,/ O blessed apostle Jude,/ who hast uttered divine mysteries.// Wherefore, we cry out to thee: Cease thou never to pray for us all.

Kontakion of the Apostle JUDE — Tone 2 "The steadfast..."
Thou wast shown, for thine adamantine mind, to be the chosen disciple/ and a steadfast pillar of the Church of Christ,/ and thou didst preach the word of Christ to the nations,/ telling them to believe in the one Godhead;/ and, glorified by Him, thou hast received the gift of healings,// to cure the infirmities of those who have recourse unto thee, O most lauded apostle Jude.

Kontakion of St PAISIUS — Tone 8
Let us the faithful sing praises to divinely-wise Paisius/ the desert's adornment, equal-to-the-Angels, Christ's friend and the glory of monks./ Let us cry to him: Rejoice, O Father Paisius.

Kontakion to St JOHN of San Francisco — Tone 5
Following Christ, the Chief Shepherd, thou wast shown to be most excellent among hierarchs; for thou didst save thy sheep from destruction by the godless, arranging a tranquil refuge for them; and exercising unceasing care for thy flock, thou didst heal the infirmities of their souls and bodies. Entreat Christ God now for us who fall down before thy precious relics, O father John, that our souls may be saved in peace.

Kontakion of St JOHN of San Francisco — Tone 8
Chosen wonderworker and superb servant of Christ/ who pourest out in the latter times/ inexhaustible streams of inspiration and multitude of miracles,/ we praise thee with love and call out to thee:/ Rejoice, holy Hierarch John, wonderworker of the latter times.

Megalynarion of the Apostle JUDE
Come, let us acclaim the Apostle Jude, as the Master's kinsman and the initiate of His truth; for he sowed the glad tidings in tears and labors, but reaped a godly harvest in joy and blessedness.

A PRAYER TO ST JOHN OF SHANGHAI AND SAN FRANCISCO
O Beloved Hierarch John while living amongst us thou didst see the future as if present, distant things as if near, the hearts and minds of men as if they were thine own. We know that in this thou wast illumined by God, with Whom thou wast ever in the mystical communion of prayer, and with Whom thou now abidest eternally. As thou once didst hear the mental petitions of thy far-scattered flock even before they could speak to thee, so now hear our prayers and bring them before the Lord. Thou hast gone over unto the life unaging, unto the other world, yet thou art in truth not far from us, for heaven is closer to us than our own souls. Show us who feel frightened and alone the same compassion that thou didst once show to the trembling fatherless ones. Give to us who have fallen into sin, confusion and despair the same stern yet loving instruction that thou didst once give to thy chosen flock. In thee we see the living likeness of our Maker, the living spirit of the Gospel, and the foundation of our Faith.
In the pure life that thou hast led during our sinful times, we see a model of virtue, a source of instruction and inspiration. Beholding the grace bestowed upon thee, we know that God hath not abandoned His people. It is rather we that have fallen from Him, and so must regain the likeness of Divinity as thou hast done. Through thine intercession, O blessed one, grant that we may increase our striving toward our heavenly homeland, setting our affections on things above, laboring in prayer and virtue, waging war against the attacks of our fallen nature. Invoke the mercy of God, that we may one day join thee in His Kingdom. For our deepest wish is to live forever with Him, with the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages. Amen.
