ST ALEXANDER OF THE RIVER SVIR
Translation of the relics of ST ALEXANDER NEVSKY
ST PHANTINOS the Younger of Calabria
ST BRYENE of Mandria
Troparion of Ss ALEXANDER, JOHN and PAUL — Tone 3
Initiates of heaven and teachers of divine Truth,/ you faithfully tended Christ's Church,/ holy Alexander champion of the Trinity,/ John son of grace and Paul the crown of bishops./ Together we all praise you.
Troparion of Ss ALEXANDER, JOHN and PAUL — Tone 4
O God of our Fathers, / always act with kindness towards us; / take not Your mercy from us, / but guide our lives in peace / through the prayers of the Patriarchs Alexander, John, and Paul.
Troparion of St ALEXANDER — Tone 4 "Go quickly before"
Christ, the God Who is over all, / has proclaimed you as a venerable shepherd of His Church, O godly-minded Alexander, / a light upon a candlestand, a faithful steward, / a pillar of Orthodoxy, and a most pious example. / Therefore, we rejoice in your memory.
Troparion of St JOHN the Faster — Tone 4
In truth you were revealed to your flock as a rule of faith, / an image of humility and a teacher of abstinence; / your humility exalted you; / your poverty enriched you. / Hierarch Father John, / entreat Christ our God / that our souls may be saved.
Troparion of St ALEXANDER of the River Svir — Tone 4
Thou didst settle in the wilderness from thy youth/ eager to follow Christ's footsteps, O Alexander./ The Angels were amazed when they beheld thee struggling in the flesh and conquering onslaughts of passions./ Dwelling on earth thou wast equal to the Angels./ Pray to Christ out God to save our souls.
Troparion of St ALEXANDER NEVSKY — Tone 4
Recognize thy brethren, O right-believing Prince Alexander, thou Russian Joseph who reignest not in Egypt, but in heaven; and accept their entreaties, increasing the harvests of thy people through the fertility of thy land, and protecting the cities of thy dominion by thy supplications. And together with our Orthodox hierarchs do battle against all heresies.
Apolytikion of St PHANTINOS the Younger — Tone 1
The boast of Calabria and great sun of monastics, and protector of Thessaloniki, you were seen to be divinely-wise Father, taking up as a child the cross, you sought God O Phantinos, and by withdrawing you became marvelously enriched, with the gift of wonderworking: Glory to Christ Who sealed you, glory to Him Who made you wondrous, glory to Him Who gave you to us as a mediator and teacher.
Apolytikion of St BRYENE — Plagal Tone 1
With the wings of the virtues you were lifted up, to be like-minded with the Angels through your way of life, and you destroyed the counsels of the enemy, wherefore you showed yourself to be a communicant of the glory of Christ, Venerable Mother Vryaini, cease not to entreat Him, to have mercy on our souls.
●
Kontakion of Ss ALEXANDER, JOHN and PAUL — Tone 8
Divinely wise Alexander, wondrous John and glorious Paul,/ aflame with Christ's love you took up His Cross and followed His life./ You now share His glory and stand before His throne:/ beseech Him to save our souls.
Kontakion of Ss ALEXANDER, JOHN and PAUL — Tone 8
Set aflame by the love of Christ, O glorious ones, / you took up the yoke of His precious Cross revealing yourselves as followers in His footsteps by your way of life, / and you became partakers of His divine glory, / divinely-wise Alexander, with wonderful John and glorious Paul. / As you stand before His throne, earnestly pray for our souls.
Kontakion of St JOHN the Faster — Tone 4
You became like your namesake, the Forerunner, O John, / For you were radiant with fasting and purity; / And Christ has revealed you / As a worthy shepherd of his flock: / Now pray for those who honor your holy memory!
Kontakion of St ALEXANDER of the River Svir — Tone 8
Thou didst settle in the wilderness and shine over Russia like a star./ Thou didst take up Christ's Cross and subdue thy body by asceticism./ Wherefore we implore thee to save thy flock, O wise one,/ that we may cry to thee: O venerable Father Alexander, rejoice.
Kontakion of St ALEXANDER NEVSKY — Tone 4
As thy kinsmen Boris and Gleb appeared to thee, bringing thee help from heaven when thou didst battle against Velgar the Swede and his warriors, so now, O blessed Alexander, come to the aid of thy kinfolk, and contend thou against those who wage war against us.
Kontakion of St PHANTINOS the Younger — Tone 3
From the womb O Saint, you were dedicated to God, and for Him as a forefunner, you praised Him with hymns before your birth, then you departed from your homeland, parents and friends, and divinely illumined many from error, by your exceedingly great asceticism, and miracles, all-venerable Phantinos.

Megalynarion of St PHANTINOS the Younger
As an offshoot of Calabria, O wonderworker Phantinos, you sanctified all of Greece, with the grace of the Lord by your asceticism, and you rest in Thessaloniki.
