Thy Nativity, O Mother of God,/ has brought joy to all the world;/ for from thee arose the Sun of Righteousness, Christ our God,/ Who, having dissolved the curse, has given His blessing,/ and having abolished death, has granted us life eternal.

Your Nativity, O Virgin,
Has proclaimed joy to the whole universe!
The Sun of Righteousness, Christ our God,
Has shone from You, O Theotokos!
By annulling the curse,
He bestowed a blessing.
By destroying death, He has granted us eternal Life.

Thy nativity, O Virgin Theotokos,/ hath proclaimed joy to all the world;/ for from thee hath shone forth Christ our God,/ the Sun of righteousness,/ Who having annulled the curse,/ hath given His blessing,// and having abolished death, hath granted us life everlasting.

Venerating your august icon, we receive strength in soul and body, all-hymned Lady, august Kathariotissa; wherefore we run to you in haste, and we also earnestly sing hymns to your Son, magnifying with longing: Glory to your magnificence Pure One, Glory to your divine protection, Glory to you who have showed yourself in being a savior to us in danger.

The island of Rhodes, has your icon, as a fountain of your gifts, and praises you as the Theotokos Tsambika, boasting of your divinely-inspired wonders, singing to you the greeting of the Angel, crying out: Rejoice Virgin graced by God, the salvation of the Christian people.
