THE ICON OF THE MOTHER OF GOD OF THE PORTAL (IVIRSKAYA) OF IVIRON MONASTERY ON THE HOLY MOUNTAIN OF ATHOS
HOLY MARTYRS CARPUS, PAPYLUS, AGATHODORUS AND AGATHONICA
Martyr FLORENTIUS of Thessalonica
Hosiosmartyr JACOB of Hamatura
Holy Great Martyress ZLATA of Moglena
Troparion of the Mother of God of the Portal ― Tone 1
We honour thy icon, O Mother of God of the Portal,/ for it has come miraculously by sea to thy flock/and is a source of holiness and a dwelling-place of thy glory./ From it gifts pour to those who lovingly cry to thee:/ Glory to thy wonders, O pure Maiden; glory to thy providence;/ glory to thy goodness towards us.
Panagia PORTAITISSA Troparion ― Tone 3
The audacity of those who hate the image of the Lord and the might of the impious came godlessly to Nicaea, and emissaries inhumanly interrogated the widow who piously venerated the icon of the Mother of God; but at night, she and her son cast the icon into the sea, crying out: "Glory to thee, O pure one, for the trackless sea hath given thee its breast! Glory to thy straight journey, O thou who alone art incorrupt!"
Troparion of the Martyrs ― Tone 3
Throughout the course of your holy lives/ you were seen to be fellow heirs of Christ/ and by your contest you triumphed over the enemy./ O wise Carpus, renowned Agathodorus, glorious Papylus,/ intercede with Christ our God to grant us the forgiveness of our sins.
Troparion of the Martyrs — Tone 4
Your holy martyr Carpus and his companions, O Lord, / through their sufferings have received incorruptible crowns from You, our God. / For having Your strength, they laid low their adversaries, / and shattered the powerless boldness of demons. / Through their intercessions, save our souls
Troparion of Holy Martyrs CARPUS & PAPYLUS — Tone 4
In their sufferings, O Lord,/ Thy martyrs received imperishable crowns from Thee our God;/ for, possessed of Thy might,/ they set at nought the tormentors and crushed the feeble audacity of the demons.// By their supplications save Thou our souls.
Apolytikion of ST FLORENTIUS ― Tone 1
Athlete of the Lord and Champion of the Faith, boast of athletes and Angels, of whom you are a fellow-citizen Florentios, do not cease to fervently entreat, the only God Who is beyond good, on behalf of those who reverently celebrate, your memory crying out: Glory to Christ Who strengthened you, glory to Him Who crowned you, glory to Him Who works through you all manner of healings.
Apolytikion of ST JACOB ― Tone 3
As a cedar of Lebanon groweth without fear of martyrdom and death, thou didst become a victor, O Father Jacob. Thou didst conquer death in thy body when by humility thou didst control the passions, and when thou wast burnt like incense as a sacrifice. Intercede with Christ to grant us great mercy.
Apolytikion of ST ZLATA ― Tone 1
Having come to love the celestial Bridegroom, you have shown no fear of the tortures of the wicked infidel and have shed your blood even to death, O Chryse, worthy of all praise, O pride of Meglen. That is why you are now being recompensed according to your merits: eternal joy in the palaces of Christ our God. To Him do pray that He may save our souls.
Apolytikion of ST ZLATA ― Tone 3
Golden vessel of virginity, a spotless a bride of the Lord you became, O most-comely virgin Chryse; you preserved your virginity blameless for Christ, and you struggled in a divine manner. O glorious Martyr, entreat your Bridegroom, to grant unto us great mercy.

Kontakion of the Mother of God of the Portal ― Tone 8
Do not withdraw thy help from us, O Virgin Lady of the Portal our Protector, we entreat thee,/ but fulfill thy promise to us that we may cry to thee:/ Rejoice, O helper of all mankind.
Panagia PORTAITISSA Kontakion ― Tone 8
Even though thy holy icon was cast into the sea by the widow who was unable to save it from the foe, O Theotokos, yet hath it been shown to be the preserver of Mount Athos and the gatekeeper of the Monastery of Iveron, frightening away the enemy and delivering from all misfortunes and dangers them that honor thee in our homeland.
Kontakion of the Martyrs ― Tone 4
God has granted your bodies as precious treasure to those living on earth,/ a stream of healing dispelling sickness and pouring out grace on all./ We fervently celebrate your festival, O holy and blessed Martyrs.
Kontakion of the Martyrs — Tone 4 “As You were voluntarily raised...”
The Master has granted your relics to those on earth / as a precious treasure and a fountain flowing with streams of healings; / they cleanse diseases of every kind / and give grace to souls in a never-ending stream; / and so with one accord we celebrate your feast with love, Carpus and Papylus.
Kontakion of Holy Martyrs CARPUS & PAPYLUS — Tone 4 "Having been lifted up"
As a most precious treasure/ and a well-spring pouring forth streams of healings/ hath the Master bestowed your relics upon them that are on earth;/ for they removed the afflictions of divers passions/ and unceasingly impart grace to men's souls.// Wherefore, together we celebrate your festival, O divine martyrs.
