HOLY MARTRYS MENAS, HERMOGENES AND EUGRAPHUS
ST DEINIOL of Bangor
Martyr NICHOLAS of Vounenis
Troparion of Martyrs— Tone 8
Having conquered the ragings of the flesh through abstinence/ the Martyrs of Christ received grace to heal the weak;/ and while living after death they worked miracles./ It is truly a strange wonder that bare bones pour forth healings!/ Glory to our God.
Apolytikion of Martyrs — Plagal Tone 4
Since they had slain through their abstinence and struggles the fiery ragings and fierce motions of the passions, the staunch Martyrs of Christ God laid hold on the graces to drive off the pains and illnesses of the sick and work wonders both while living and after death. Strange indeed is the miracle! That these bare bones should pour forth such overflowing streams of cures. Glory be to our only God.
Troparion of Martyrs — Tone 8
Having mortified the fiery forms and movements of the passions by abstinence, O martyrs of Christ,/ ye received the grace to dispel the ailments of the infirm,/ and, living even after your death, to work miracles!/ O truly most glorious wonder! Bare bones pour forth healing!// Glory to the only God and Creator!
Troparion of Martyrs — Tone 8
Having slain the fiery ragings and fierce movements of the passions though their ascetic labors, / the Martyrs of Christ, Menas, Hermogenes, and Eugraphus, received grace to dispel the afflictions of the infirm and to work wonders both while alive and after death. / It is a truly great wonder that bare bones pour forth healing. / Glory to our only God and Creator.
Troparion of ST DEINIOL ― Tone 4
By thy teaching and pious life thou didst shine forth in the age of Saints, O Hierarch Deiniol,
and becoming Bangor's first bishop thou wast an instrument of God's grace, leading many to salvation.
Pray, O Saint, that we may be led into the Way of Truth that our souls may be saved.
Apolytikion of ST NICHOLAS of Vounenis ― Tone 4
As a physician without pay for the sick, and an irresistible helper in dangers, a fervent protector of the afflicted, and a champion of all those in need, O Venerable Martyr Nicholas from the east, intercede with Christ God, to save our souls.
●
Kontakion of Martyrs — Tone 1
With sacred hymns let us honour wondrous Menas, divine Hermogenes and Eugraphos; for they honoured the Lord and suffered for Him. They attained to the bodiless choirs in heaven and shower miracles upon us.
Kontakion of Martyrs — Tone 1 "The choir of the angels"
Together let us all honor with sacred and sweet hymnody,/ the wondrous Menas, the godly Hermogenes and Eugraphus,/ as ones who rendered honor unto the Lord,/ who suffered for Him, attained unto the choirs of the incorporeal in the heavens,// and pour forth miracles.
Kontakion of Martyrs — Tone 4
The Lord snatched you from the temporal army making you a fellow inheritor of the eternal, O Menas; / together with Hermogenes and Eugraphus with whom you suffered, / you are granted an incorruptible crown.
Kontakion of Martyrs — Tone 4
The Lord snatched thee out of the temporal army, making thee a fellow-heir of the eternal, O Menas, with them that suffered and died with thee; and He doth grant thee the crown incorruptible.
Kontakion — of Martyrs Tone 4 "Having been lifted up"
The right melodious sound of thy words,/ leading Hermogenes up from the abyss of perdition, set him on the rock of life;/ and Eugraphus, having denounced the emperor,/ hath his glorious head severed, rejoicing.// And do thou earnestly pray, O Menas, that all that honor thee with love be saved.
Kontakion of ST NICHOLAS of Vounenis ― Tone 4
From the east today you appeared, as a luminous star, and in Greece of the west, you contested for Christ, we sing hymns to you Nicholas the New.
