ST KENAN
ST COLMAN OF CLOYNE
Holy Great Martyress CATHERINE
Holy Great Martyr MERCURIUS of Cappadocia
Troparion of the Mother of God ― Tone 4
Today is the prelude of God's goodwill/ and the prophecy of the salvation of men./ The Virgin appears openly in the temple of God/ and foretells Christ to all./ So let us cry to her with loud voices:/ Rejoice, thou who art the fulfillment/ of the Creator's providence.
Troparion of the Hieromartyrs ― Tone 3
You were shown forth as trumpeters of divine knowledge/ and revealers of the ordinances of the Faith,/ Clement thou fruitful vine of life /and Peter firm rock of the faithful./ Since you are seers of ineffable mysteries deliver us from every harm.
Troparion of ST KENAN ― Tone 1
As a witness to the steadfastness of the Faith of Christ,/ thou didst erect to His glory/ Ireland's first cathedral of stone, O Hierarch Kenan,/ where thou didst labour for the salvation of men's souls./ Wherefore, O Saint, pray that our labours may be blessed and bear fruit/ that many may be led into the Way of Salvation.
Troparion of ST COLMAN of Cloyne― Tone 8
Leaving thy post as bard of Cashel and embracing the monastic life, O Father Colman,/ thou didst employ thy God-given poetic talents teaching our holy and saving faith./ Therefore O Saint, pray to God that He would bestow again the gift of words/ that the Faith may be taught in these islands for the salvation of many souls.
Troparion of ST CATHERINE — Tone 4
By your virtues as by rays of the sun you enlightened the unbelieving philosophers, / and like the most bright moon you drove away the darkness of disbelief from those walking in the night; / you convinced the queen, and also chastised the tyrant, / God-summoned bride, blessed Catherine. / You hastened with desire to the heavenly bridal chamber of the fairest Bride-groom Christ, / and you were crowned by Him with a royal crown; / standing before Him with the angels, pray for us who keep your most sacred memory.
Troparion of ST CATHERINE — Tone 4
Thy ewe-lamb Catherine crieth out to Thee with a loud voice, O Jesus:/ "I love Thee, O my Bridegroom,/ and, seeking Thee, I pass through many struggles:/ I am crucified and buried with Thee in Thy baptism,/ and suffer for Thy sake, that I may reign with Thee;/ I die for Thee that I might live with Thee./ As an unblemished sacrifice accept me,/ who sacrifice myself with love for Thee// By her supplications save Thou our souls, in that Thou art merciful.
Troparion of ST CATHERINE — Tone 4
With thy virtues, as with the rays of the sun,/ thou didst enlighten the unbelieving philosophers;/ and, like the most radiant moon shining on them that walk at night,/ thou didst drive away the darkness of unbelief./ Thou didst bring the empress to faith/ and didst denounce the tyrant, O divinely elect bride./ O blessed Catherine, with desire didst thou make haste to the heavenly bridal chamber,/ to Christ the most comely Bridegroom,/ and by Him hast thou been crowned with a royal crown./ Standing with the angels before Him,// thou pray for us that keep thy most honored memory.
Troparion of ST MERCURIUS — Tone 4
In his suffering, O Lord,/ Thy martyr Mercurius received an imperishable crown from Thee our God;/ for, possessed of Thy might,/ he set at nought the tormentors and crushed the feeble audacity of the demons.// By his supplications save Thou our souls.
Troparion of ST MERCURIUS — Tone 4
Your holy martyr Mercurius,O Lord, / through his sufferings has received an incorruptible crown from You, our God. / For having Your strength, he laid low his adversaries, / and shattered the powerless boldness of demons. / Through his intercessions, save our souls!
●
Kontakion of the Feast ― Tone 4
The most pure Temple of the Saviour,/ the most precious bridal chamber and Virgin,/ the sacred treasury of the glories of God,/ today enters into the house of the Lord,/ bringing with her the grace that is the Divine Spirit./ And the Angels of God sing of her:/ This is the heavenly tabernacle.
Kontakion of the Hieromartyrs ― Tone 4
Unshakable divine towers of the Church,/ God-inspired and mighty pillars of piety:/ we praise you, Clement and Peter, guard us all by your intercessions.
Kontakion of ST CATHERINE — Tone 2
Let all of us who love to honor the martyrs / form a great choir in praise of the most wise Catherine, / for she preached Christ and trampled the serpent, / despising the knowledge of the orators!
Kontakion of ST CATHERINE — Tone 2 "Seeking the highest"
O ye that love the martyrs,/ raise up an honored chorus in godly manner/ honoring the most wise Catherine;/ for in the arena she preached Christ and trod upon the serpent,/ putting down the knowledge of the rhetors.
Kontakion of ST MERCURIUS — Tone 4
In battle an invincible warrior / and in calamity a bold protector; / we bless Mercurius / and we praise him with songs: / for he saves from calamities and sorrows / those who joyously celebrate his memory.
Kontakion to the Great Martyr MERCURIUS — Tone 4"Thou hast appeared today"
Glorifying him with hymns, let us bless Mercurius,/ the warrior unvanquished in battle, the helper unashamed amid misfortunes,/ for he doth deliver from tribulations and sorrows// them that celebrate his memory with gladness.
